    8 months after my previous post on this highly important subject, Greggs have released a vegan version of their Steak Bake, which I tried on the way in to work today.

    It was terrible.

    I mean, of course it was - the whole point of a steak bake is the meaty gravy (let's not go into the fat and gristle that's increased in percentage over the decades), so the dessicated onion taste that takes its place, swaddling the cloud of particulate SoyQuornWhatever is absolutely by no means in any way a stand-in for lumps of sinewy meat.

    bullshit. Sorry, quornshit.

    • Also realised why most vegan pastries are lighter in colour after cooking - they'll not have had milk or egg brushed on them, will they?Nairn
    • I did wonder why the vegan sausage rolls looked half cooked, been v.tempted a few times but put off by the pastry. Surely there's a way of getting them closer?fadein11
