I was poking around on the realtor site the other day and come across a 25 acre triangle of riverside woodland, no road access, for $35k, and briefly imagined setting up small cabins (somehow, with the only access being by boat) and renting them out and doing the winter break there in the quiet and snow... Just like Krassy's post here: https://www.qbn.com/reply/394417…

    • I used to daydream about something like this all the time. It's just that the land in Colorado where I dream about doing this is $1,000,035K...mg33
    • how about the QBN community all goes in on it together!?!Krassy
    • fun for murder mystery dinner!pango
    • I’ve got the land in NorCalmonospaced
    • I almost pulled the trigger on a very similar plot. Boat access only, on a river. If the river doesn’t freeze, winter access is as problemGnash
    • Any chance it's the Skootamata, near Madoc?i_monk
    • No, it was north of marmora, but I looked at a few places on the skootamata and Moira river systemGnash
    • I like the prices around tweed. The issue will be flooding on those rivers. It’s frequentGnash
    • The skootamata doesn’t freeze over so you won’t be able to access the place easilyGnash
    • Are any of the borders on crown land? That could make access a little easierGnash
    • I’ve paddled part of the river about 15 years ago. Ended at the conservation area near ActinoliteGnash
    • It’s a long river so ask the agaentbabout flooding. It’s worse near tweed but not sure about the stretch north of 7Gnash
    • I used to live just up the hill from the Moira, north of Belleville. Anyway, unless this plot is still available in a few years it's just a dream for now.i_monk
    • Not working steadily for two years set me back a bit.i_monk
    • Plots like that come up all the time. That realtor site is a fucking rabbit-hole. There are 400 acre plots for under 200K.Gnash
    • Friends of mine recently bought an old schoolhouse in Marlbank. Pretty cheap. Every now and then an old church comes up for saleGnash
    • I know a couple who bought a church in or near Corbyville.i_monk
