On a fun note. I was playing the numbers game and expect (for mono thermodynamic end of a system) that we are due for a super socialist shift. In as much a free higher edu will be a carrot for voters. Now looking at most states if free higher edu is a thing, what will that do to cities with higher education facilities? can they keep buying property as they do now to expand. Will it be dorms or will influx of people hurt rural areas while raising prices of urban areas drastically considering rent can be financed. Can a couple universities stand such influx? If we are going to truely make higher edu as part of the public system would we be open to hiring professors at HS and risking college people to mingle in highschools to partake in specific learning above high school level. After all what is public education financed needing college? Cant they just add 4 yrs to highschool on needed areas?
But of course none of what im saying is politically practical even though it functional and better on budgets
- There would still be capacities and qualifications and admissions.monospaced
- The only real change is funding would come from a different source. And of course this wouldn’t apply to every university. Probably only smaller onesmonospaced
- i think the long term consequences of such policies will have a larger long term effect than realized and mostly negative********
- right now i can say UNR is buying up everything, they and the hospitals seem to be the largest growers with what seems to be unlimited capital for purchases********
- like a tech unicorn... its not sustainable. its irrational and short lived, but if you see the capital flows and reasons for it you see the problems********
- You’re kinda missing the basis of it. Subsidized higher education won’t change admission rates or anything like that.monospaced
- And there are many ways schools get funding. You might know a little more and not resort to guessing had you gone to one.monospaced
- lol you think i didnt go to college. shit my tuition was paid. but you are missing the point********
- If college becomes a norm for every students covered. A basic learn yourself for free and what you want at others expenses..********
- you have to expect groing pains. So in the state of nevada how many poeple graduate per year? and considering 2 universities********
- assuming 95 percent at least take free college. means those need houses space and room.********
- creates an influx even collegles not ready for even with their unsustainbLE GROWTH********
- Now we have youth moving out of all rural areas for free education. what happens to thos rural areas? or things they provide now being manipulated********
- i think common sens eshould show its a stupid thing and perverse incentive that can cause huge harm********
- There would be no change in admission rates. Your entire point rests on a premise that doesn’t existmonospaced
- And yes. I question your education based entirely on your inability to write coherently and your disdain for the highly educated themselvesmonospaced
- of course there would be change in admission. econ 101. and it doesn't exist yet. its a thought experiment.********
- one that hasn't been ran by the people advocating for such policies, and should be a red flag in they have no idea what they are trying besides securing their********
- job. and i have no disdain for any educated person. clearly that should be obvious. what you mean is im highly skeptical of ppl trying to hide********
- behind titles or educational milestones as real education. a Doctorate or any paper is a word and paper to me. i dont apply value to it as others might********
- i encourage all to think that way and run from anyone who tries to call themselves an expert.********
- you should focus far less on my education and more on the substance. less on grammar or spelling and the idea communicated********
- focusing on those small displays a mind more for an assembly line. clearly you learned to value those areas more so than others.********
- why? and why did they stick? probably never asked, nor will you. not everyone is fit for certain roles.********
- you are happy to follow and fit for it. will you admit you just want a simple controlled life in a cage? be easy********
- you're still insisting that the capacity and admissions would change, but there's no inidication on this entire planet that would be the case ...monospaced
- your entire argument is based on this ASSumption, and it falls apart entirely because it's not a true one.monospaced
- If college is paid for, it doesn't mean everyone's automatically admitted, or that any university has to change its admission process...monospaced
- in all likeliness, the OPPOSITE of what you describe wuold happen: schools would be more stringent, and competition would be stronger over the limited spotsmonospaced
- IF I live in a cage, it's the same fucking cage you do. There is LITERALLY NOTHING you have done, or will ever do, to escape it. IF it's true.monospaced
- The only difference is that I am more educated and prpared for my future than you, as you've made that painfully obvious.monospaced
- I'm not focusing on your grammar and spelling mistakes, btw, I'm talking entirely about your proposition and coupling it with your obvious backgroundmonospaced
- What I'm not doing is making assumptions though. That's all you, little buddy boy. Enjoy your nonexistent retirement and pile of cash under your bed, LOL!monospaced
- haha. capacity and admissions wouldn't change if college was provided for... explain how more capital available capital doesn't change something?********
- it obviously would. If there is money being given away fro education standards would be gamed. evidence of this is in last housing crisis on easy loans.********
- there are very specific reasons edu and health are the largest growing sectors mainly due to gov funding********
- but if you want to play with the big boys in a thought experiment you need to provide substance than Nuh Uh like a crazy blakc chic long finger nails********
- you could try to provide any reason why colleges would turn down free federal money to fill their schools?********
- i dont believe there is one, but that is my point and you dont offer any rational reason why but "uh nuh" why you see its hard to take u seriously********
- and as far as preparedness goes for the future. im smart enough to know their is no good answer there. that those with plans dont know either********
- as the old greek dudes said real knowledge is knowing what you dont.********
