One of my client's friends past away and he's asked me to design a 32oz beer can for his memorial. The direction includes an illustrated version of a photo. There's no real budget (how the fuck can i charge this guy, I knew the deceased also) so I was thinking of using some quick tricks in PS or AI / both, but I don't know any said tricks besides Live Trace (not sure if it's still available). Any suggestions?

- Vector Magic app is good for tracing, way better than the inbuilt AI tracing. Could try posterising the image in Photoshop first?PhanLo
- you can do a woodcut effect in photoshop, which works well for even low-res photosmonospaced

- Thankscanoe
- I actually did this for a friend whose grandfather passed away, and they only had low-res images of him.monospaced
- That's pretty cool mono especially for beer cans. Another effect that might work. https://www.youtube.…canoe
- PhanLo - do you pay for this? You must have a reason to use it frequently?canoe
- That could work. A lot depends on the photo, the person, and the desired feel. you'll do a great job :)monospaced
