Dear USA, I see your justice system is broke. On a clear recommendation that Manafort should spend at least 10 yrs in jail he gets 90 months. Bullshit all the way... All he needs now is a pardon and he'll get one.
- You only now just watched Making a Murderer on Netflix?monospaced
- I know, it's crazy. Recommended for both cases is 10 yrs and up, and altogether he gets 90 months. Even without pardon he's out in less than 5 yrs.renderedred
- And I just learned he's housed alone in a "VIP" room with TV, computer and all that. That's not jail :)renderedred
- That's like a "timeout" for kids LOLrenderedred
- Manafort has just been indicted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office..
No pardons if/when convicted.BonSeff - If he's pardoned, he's still facing several years of state charges too. The system is intact.monospaced
- sure, several years instead of at least 20 is a good deal. does the system treat everybody like that?renderedred
- when people cooperate, and name names up the line, and make deals for more information on others, it's VERY NORMAL to get a reduced sentencesmonospaced
- Not to say there aren't major issues, such as having more $ for more lawyers often results in a skewed result. It's just not totally broken, y'know?monospaced
- our incarceration rate is a bit high, its pretty broken. wikipedia has it at 74billion. if you are an investor, wink wink, invest now. emerging market!BonSeff
- for real, its a fucking business.BonSeff
- Lets remember the point of the trial is russia connection. Not to say he's not dirty. He's no different than hilary or bernie sanders wife or almost all********
- politically connected people or even private parties legally finding ways to side step tax law to keep as much money as possible. or joe average writing off a********
- a room as office. He just had more money to make it it look bigger. that said and most people go untouched. this is political********
- and mostly to drive the russia narrative, which i still find fascinating like a clinton pizza dungeon anyone would believe.********
- at the end of the day i hardly follow this crooks story, but think the real narrative is being forgotten or changed.********
- the point of the Manafort Trial and ultimate goal was NOT to find russian collusion, it was to cover his rampant fraudulent actions across the campaign managemmonospaced
- and his "story," which is all true, verified, is one about how trump got where he is today, using corrupt methods and a corrupt man now in prisonmonospaced
- Manafort had nothing to do with the russia investigation? Sources? Was he under investigation for tax evasion unrelated to russia?********
- You arn't honestly saying that this Manafort has nothing to do or primarily with the "russia" did it trump narrative?********
- i accuse you of no independent thought but this sounds super independent and i want to hear it.********
- anything to back this is about manafort and manafort alone with no relation to russia and trump? hmm... or apology?********
- Or ill just accept your non response as apology so all good********
- I'm saying that the MAIN goal of the investigation wasn't solely that. That's all :) My non response was because I have a life on weekends, loser.monospaced
- You insisted the point of the trial was russia collusion. I'm simply pointing out it was corruption in general, including Russia. Get it?monospaced
- I could be an obnoxious dunce like you and ASSume your non response is apology or you admitting you're wrong, but I'm not as stupid as that.monospaced
- and what evidence that is was not corruption investigation started by the russia narrative that you provide...********
- i can cite so many articles where this was started by the "russia" narrative. What sources do you have show this is merely corruption not connected?********
- As much as I hate hand holding for ppl who clearly incapable or don't care. Apathy and ignoring is probably worse off to pointing out how baseless your state********
- ments are. But lets see if you have anything. My guess is you don't.********
- The investigation was about illegal campaign management, PART of which involved russian contacts. But that simply isn't the start and end of it.monospaced
- What this means is that he's going to prison for actual crimes, none of which involve russia. That's a successful investigation.monospaced
- So when you say the point was a russia connection, you're kinda missing the big picture. Manafort was, and is corrupt, and that is what the investigation is of.monospaced
- IF the whole point was russia and only russia, then you might argue the investigation was fruitless? Not even close.monospaced
- Any evidence focused on manafort without the russia collusion angle? That is was unrelated to the narrative and only tax evasion?********
- Are you really denying the motivation for all media narratives along this case? No one cared about manafort, he was a pawn i hopes for russia collusion********
- the idea russia was so SMART they got trump elected as a pawn of russia. All through social media click bait. Have you heard anything stupider?********
- You’re talking about the public not caring. Sure. But I’m talking about the actual investigation. It was a criminal investigation first and foremost.monospaced
- I’m denying that the MANAFORT investigation had Russia at its start and finish. OBVIOUSLY that wasn’t and never was the case.monospaced
- The Russia thing was click bait and part of the campaign but not the core of the corruption or the basis of why Manafort was investigated or imprisoned. Jesus.monospaced
- For more Russia stuff, stay tuned. It’s still not over.monospaced
- And your sources or reasons to believe investigation had no interest in russia collusion to begin with? You say it didnt have russia at start and finish but********
- back it up with anything. Anything that it is manafort tax fraud related and not trump? is this the third time i asked?********
