  for a blog or micro-site: forget it.

  All you need to know is that until these run without any error you're doing it wrong:
  /bin/magento setup:upgrade -vvv
  /bin/magento setup:di:compile -vvv
  /bin/magento indexer:reindex -vvv
  /bin/magento cache:flush -vvv
  /bin/magento setup:static-content:deploy en_US -f -vvv
