My best friend is in a dark place. He is working at dead end job no car of his own. He saved up to buy one and it broke down. He has weird bad luck. Though he does make some reckless choices as well. He just tells me that he doesn't know how to fix his situation. Complains about not having friends and not happy with how his life is....

I really don't know what else to tell him. A lot of it is getting his shit figured out but he always throws the victim card. saying "No one knows how it is to be in his shoes" or "No one want to support him in his efforts"

I can only say stay positive so many times, or help him out with some things here and there. I don't know how to help.

    • if you can, maybe get a gym membership for him and you and go train together. It's good for the mood, the self esteemdyspl
    • and it forces you too move out of your comfort zone if you're not a gym guy. It shifts a bit the dynamic.dyspl
    • and hopdefully it will make him focus on something he can control, and make him take pride in getting back control in other areas.dyspl
    • ya i hear ya on trying to make him feel that he has accomplished things, or that life is moving forward in some new way.BabySnakes
    • Buy him a gift and tell him how much he means to you. Then hug. Could lead to more...JustAlf
    • I have a similar friend in a life rut, going on 25 years. Unless you're fam or in a relationship w/them, be a firm, honest friend to him but set ur boundariesrobotron3k
