There is this weird 'effect' that when I think I'm Robert Downey Jr. that suddenly girls start looking at me much more often and even kind of flirt with me.
Must be a confidence boost thingy or something?

- The Robert Downey Jr effect. It's a well studied scientific phenomenon.
Personally the Hank Moody effect worked wonders for me lol_niko - one's inner dialogue manifests itself in behaviour, so this seems quite plausible.Gnash
- a certain level of people will show interest if you cover your creepy personality with some fake shit.sted

- everyone has an inner dialogue that guides them. Most people's story is negative and guides them to towards behaviour that fulfills that inner storyGnash
- it's what people end up in the same king of relationship, or the same fucked work environment. just sticking to the plot we built for ourselvesGnash
- why* kind* (ugh)Gnash
- so changing it up, as NBQ states, can often have a a profound effect.Gnash
- what I'm saying, sted, is that the negative inner dialogue is just as fake. It's the voice of the broken kid most of us carry around.Gnash
- so try a new dialogue on for size. fake it 'til you make it, or until the real you has a chance to come out from under the dickwad speaking in your ear nowGnash
- (i'm using the royal "you" - not anyone specific, if that wasn't clear)Gnash
- Huh, I do the same, but as Roseanne.Nairn
