Was supposed to participate in a quickie 4M with good company today.
I’m so disappointed to the point of (admittedly) slight depression. Suffering from this “tennis leg” that my doc diagnosed without palpating my leg? Need a second opinion, should t last this long.
It’s been over 6 weeks already. I was doing 20-30mi weekly to now low impact sports.
Dramatic but I think I can let it out in this safe space...
I feel like I’m going to die if I cannot run again in a few days!!?*
- Now to play some blues about it. Thanks for letting me vent on the blog.notype
- Up at 5a, put on my Biofreeze, took an Aleve, went to the race. Had my bib and all. Felt like "this won't be good", even if I finish. Ah well...notype
- Better to have a working leg when you're old. and it took me way too long to decipher, 4M. Metric system FTW!Gnash
- Just 4 miles. :)
Yeah you’re right Gnash, life at 40 I suppose.notype - if you run on cement buy very good shoes. I fucked my hip from years of running on cement. I had a weird gait, though, so that didn't helpGnash
- Damn- I’m sorry to hear thatnotype
- eh, not a big deal now, but it's gonna suck when I'm 70. I just can't do any prolonged running anymore. I only run in the woods now (when I'm up north)Gnash
- Gnash, do you find trail running to be better? I’ll try it but there’s so shit to look out for. Also have you tried a chiropractor?notype
- *so much.
twigs and rocks, mud and dips.notype - ^ i LOVE trail running. I actually dig that aspect of it - the constant vigilance of avoiding trip hazards. you get into a zen mindset, like meditationGnash
- only downside is not paying attention for bears. I tried running with a bell once but drove me nuts.Gnash
- Hmmmm I’ll give it a go when my leg gets better then. Kinda like the sound of itnotype
- I'm out of the woods now, so to speak. Gnash I'm getting trail shoes this coming weekend :) it's appealing to me more n' more.notype
