    Why can't I have multiple independent After Effects projects open like either in multiple separate AE app windows or some sort of tabs?

    Seriously, it's so annoying not being able to have open more than one project at a time. Multi tasking is so limited that way.

    I wonder if this is a technical limitation or if Adobe never thought about this.

    • you can...I used to do that by opening 2 different versions of after effects. I think you need 2 instances of AE, could also work by duplicating the app.uan
    • I've duped apps to get Sketchup to render using all available cores, but with AE the system resources might be harder to manage with big projects.evilpeacock
    • Make a new AE file, import all your AE projects into that. Never create a new AE file, just keep working in one big almighty mega HD ruining 1gb+ AE file.shapesalad
    • shape, yeah that I don't want. Because for whatever reason the imported project doesn't update when you edit the original one. It's a mess.NBQ00
