    WHY WHY WHY? After so many years and this still wasn't fixed:

    Copying layers from one After Effects composition into another messes up entire layer order and you have to manually re-arrange the layers into their correct order.

    WTF? WHY?

    Or am I missing something?

    • For some reason it still doesn't do it properly, even if selected in correct order. Also expressions get messed up.NBQ00
    • Often I just duplicate the comp instead of the copy/paste hassle.PhanLo
    • Can't duplicate the comp if I need to change stuff for a 2nd version but don't want it to affect the original comp.NBQ00
