If you're a total beginner with 3d then maybe you can get first results with Sketchup and then edit with PS and Illustrator.

If you want to learn and have something to develop yourself further on I recommend starting with Cinema 4d. But it takes some time to learn and understand.

It really depends on how often you need it, how detailed you need it to be and how much time you can spend on this. I'd try building a base with Cinema, render it out and then add the blurry smoothness and the interface in PS later on.

    • Agreed. This looks like it was done in SketchUp, except for some of the soft shadows.monospaced
    • I say it's done in illustrator, straight up 'hand drawn' perspective...the 3d is probably unnecessary work step for this illustration.uan
    • I have model in 3DS Max, and I know how to render a nice realistic image. But no idea, how to get such a result without spending hours on retouching..Mezzanine
