Got two "signed in from a new location" e-mails from Netflix today. I've never given anyone my information. So, after verifying the emails were legit, I signed in and changed my password.
It's been years since I've even logged in to Netflix since I only used it on Xbox (until recently), and never had to change the password.
I have two suspicions. The first, and most probable, is a website that had my email/password stored poorly and was hacked. This email/pass combo was one I used everywhere. I've since changed it for most everything, but it was never changed on Netflix.
My second suspicion is my new "smart" tv that has Netflix baked in has some sort of vulnerability. While I suspect it's a coincidence, it's a bit strange that a month after I enter my Netflix info for the first time in years, my account info is somehow intercepted.
I'm gonna log the ip's it hits for the next week or so and see if there's any funny business.
