I've hit rock bottom financially. Just about 2 years ago on top of the world, so much freedom, traveling, fun with girls and doing trips with them and spoiling them a bit (not in a sugar daddy way) and myself too. I did nothing extreme in terms of spending but for sure it was nice because the money was coming in. I was single and enjoyed life.

Then lots of bad luck happened with work since then. I don't know why but it got so much quieter and even applying for freelance gigs at shitty little companies didn't work either despite my work being way better than what they were doing.

I hate this situation, living from paycheck to paycheck and now worrying about my finances when before it was better. And I'm really trying hard to get more work but there seems to be some sort of barrier. Maybe it's a phase in life, maybe the universe wants me to teach a lesson and I have to go through tougher times?

Anyone else in a similar situation?

    • Anyone of us has been in this situation... ups and downs, this is the life. At least, you have got a blast during your good times.OBBTKN

    • I think the whole industry has changed. And with Brexit coming = economic uncertainty = bad for business.shapesalad
    • My thinking is - relocate to a cheaper EU country while you can, work remotely, develop own 'mini' studio. Low living cost, save more.shapesalad
    • In a similar situation, living paycheck to paycheck, but I'm better than last year and there's no way I'm going to stress about it like before.Maaku
    • You can only do as much, so chill. A lot of the stress comes from the inside rather than your pockets.Maaku
    • I made the mistake of working VFX - this is my life. Makes me suicidal when I think of what I've missed out on. I loved to travel and see the world.mugwart
