After having #2 and #3 (twins, yay!) my wife said, "Nope, if we have an accident there's no way I would want a #4." Then as the twins got older and more loved, she decided she couldn't go through with an abortion should we slip up. I was on the phone with the urologist right away. Procedure took 10 min, no pain. Get an athletic supporter to keep everything tight for a few days.
The one worry I had was that my kids were in the phase where if they wanted your attention they would kind of backhand slap you.. and they were at a height where your junk was the natural impact zone. So I had my wife lie to the kids and told them I was away for work. I pretty much hid in my own house for two days and watched movies.
