Curious about the rest of you: What's the 1-2 things with your kids that really max out your emotions in a positive or heartfelt way?

My daughter will be 4 in January, and every once in a while while talking to her watching her do things, I get these moments where I'm like "wow... you are definitely growing up... what you just did or thought for the first time won't happen ever again." It's very heartwarming and amazing while also being kind of a downer if you focus too much on it.

Then my son, who turned 15 months old yesterday, is walking, but not talking yet, and it's cool to think of all the fun interactions and moments with my daughter that we will get to have all over again with him in the next couple years. My wife and I are so happy and excited to see them forming a bond together; it's just such a happy thing to look forward to them being each other's best friends in a way that only a brother and sister can be. :)

    • I have a 4 year old boy and a 6 week old boy.

You're gaining perspective from both of them.

For me, it's the family playing outside on a sunny day...

    • ...Everyone is playing independently, BUT as a family. Their is no lecturing, yelling, etc. etc. etc.

      It's 1 family playing.

    • My oldest girl just turned 5 and her vocabulary is giving me a double take.
She already has quips for situations.

    • She also has a super special needs cousin she spends a lot of time with, patiently. And creates games to entertain. It makes me so proud.BonSeff
    • That special smile he gives me when he sees me after I get home from work, or when he first wakes up. He's 9 months now and really coming online :)monospaced
