    I have an iPad air. it's pretty old. somethings are running smoother with iOS12, while other things, like Instagram, got screwy. They changed the aspect ratio of instagram, so now it's got black bars on the side and all the text is crunchy. not cool. but whatever.

    • Instagram is an iPhone app, has no iPad version. Previous iOS would display iPhone apps' 3x4 screen ratio version on iPad because that's iPad's ratio as well.raf
    • Thing is, the last iPhone with 3x4 screen ratio was iPhone 4S. Most new iPhone apps don't even come with that ratio views anymore.raf
    • Apple decided to use recent iPhone views when displaying iPhone-only apps on iPad. Makes sense to me, and your bonus is Instagram now displays in Retina versionraf
    • there should be only 5 screen sizes ever in the world: laptop 17", 15", 13" a 10" tablet size and a 3.5" smartphone.shapesalad

    • BTW, Instagram didn't work properly anymore, photo editing features did not display for a while — because of interface incompatibility.raf
