gnash :"sounds like support didn't warn you that resetting the phone erases all the data. that sucks, but not the phone's fault, i don't think"

well, the thing is I didn't reset the phone. it all logged me out of every apps, mails etc by itself, without any action from me...

    • I misread your initial statement: when you said "this cunt" I thought you were referring to phone-supportGnash
    • (this cunt "on the" phone -- is how I read it)Gnash
    • No worries gnash, I realized that maybe I hadn’t been clear on my post.dyspl
    • Not backing it up often enough, my fault. The iPhone breaking down like this, it’s a apple issue.dyspl
    • It’s kinda crazy to see people are all up in arms when you just say that apple isn’t perfect. A cult for a fucking brand 0_odyspl
    • I get your reluctance to use cloud services (i shudder at the idea of a breach) but I love how simple it makes everything within the ecosystem .Gnash
    • iCloud has lost my dad his pictures many many times... so it's not perfect either. The problem here is that we used to pay extra to get cutting edgezarkonite
    • design/technology on a platform that just works. Apple's value prop is gone and that's why google has 80% of the phone market.zarkonite
    • oh, and when they switch to fucking cloud music they erased all my exclusive DJ sets, and replaced a bunch of songs with versions that weren't the same.zarkonite
    • ^ point takenGnash
    • Google has 80% of the phone market?monospaced
    • like a radio edit of a song that was a live version, etc.zarkonite
    • Wow, on a global level they do!monospaced
    • In the USA, they have ~55% and Apple has ~45%monospaced
    • There’s also the dependency on an online service, that you then pay for when you go above the given free space.dyspl
    • ^ you can use iCloud for only contacts and keychain and iMessage and keep usage small.Gnash
    • it's totally customizable, and 99c a month isn't that bad :/monospaced
    • I’ll look more into it.dyspl
    • mono: yeah globally, I'm surprised it's still that high in the US. They're being outsold about 3:1 right now in the US.zarkonite
