As if this couldn't get any uglier and more frightening, Trump is now proclaiming that the special counsel investigation is unconstitutional. Rudy G. is now asserting that Trump can pardon himself, and that Trump can't be indicted for anything. Basically that he's above the law.

I know I'm a broken record, but can you even f'ing imagine the anger if Obama had said or done any of these things????

I keep wondering what message, if any, is going to resonate with his base to get them to see this insanity for what it is: It's a power grab for absolute power, and for a president to be above the law. For his family to rake in money off the federal government.

The only message and tactic I can think of is to tell these people that there's one reason the Trump cabal keeps getting away with this: because they let them. They are being taken advantage of on a daily basis, because the administration thinks so little of them and understands how gullible and apathetic they are. Basically, most of them are just dumb, disconnected, and easily manipulated.

Do you think that would resonate with people? To find the right simple words to tell them that the only reason this chaos continues is because their cluelessness keeps fueling the fire? I expect some people would feel insulted, but maybe their pride would take over and they'd say "you know what, yeah, I do see how they think I'm stupid!"

    • well, good news is that he's NOT above the law, Giuliani is not in a position to change the law, and the US Constitution is not going anywheremonospaced
    • ... the investigation is absolutely constitutional, Trump CANNOT pardon himself or family members, and he cannot have more power than the position dictates.monospaced
    • All this is just to get his dumbass voter base to spread the idiocy, and MAYBE get more votes at some point. Total nonsense.monospaced
    • Undoing all the dumbfuckery of the current presidency will take year and years to sort out. If ever.PhanLo
    • Oh, I agree fully mono. I'm just growing increasingly distraught at how off-the-charts insane every single day turns out to be.mg33
    • I understand. My mother-in-law voted for him, and despite a year of his policies fucking her over, she still defends her choice. Total insanity.monospaced
    • Well then what is the problem with meeting with Mueller and letting the FBI do their job?BonSeff
    • I think he's intent on NOT letting the FBI do their job, unless I'm not understanding something here.monospaced
    • i've been following the whole legal thing lately. it's insane.renderedred
    • You make this sound like Trump and co have a well thought out plan to dupe the American public when he's really just getting away with saying ridiculous things.
      ********
    • They’re definitely actively duping the public. Trump might not be behind it, but that’s happening for sure, with help from FOX and Friends and other dumbfuck.monospaced
    • ^ Yep. There are a handful of younger people engaged with the campaign who I think have a large hand in the strategic direction as far as the chaos.mg33
    • People like Stephen Miller. I have no doubt that guy is largely at the helm of much of this nonsense.mg33
    • @mono... a snippet from an argument i had with a relative... "i'm a republican because that's what my daddy and his daddy before him was and i'll...kona
    • ... continue to be a Republican and support Trump as will my children!"
Me: Good thing your father wasn't a Nazi
      kona
    • fun fact. As it turns out, her daddy, and her daddy's daddy were in fact nazi's and own a bunch of nazi shit at home. Good times.kona
    • i found this out when their niece, whom they've kicked out of their family, posted about their nazi behavior and memorabilia. I did nazi that comingkona
    • I’m so sorry. I thought having a completely insufferable, rude and idiotic mother in law was bad.monospaced
