My father in law has been living with an abdominal aortic aneurysm for about a year. Super risky to operate at his age...so he decided to chance his luck and leave it. So he’s had to live with the knowledge he had a ticking time bomb inside and that it could burst at any point.

Unfortunately his luck ran out this morning and the aneurysm blew...he was conscious and they’ve managed to get him to hospital relatively quickly. The doctor said there was a 50/50 chance of getting through surgery. Thankfully the old bugger has.

Still not out of the woods. Very real chance of complications, but over the first major hurdle.

    • Wow. Damn...gotta hurt. Regards.docpoz

    • sorry, Buster :( Hope he pulls through. I'm w/my in-laws for the next 2 weeks, both in their late 70's... my poor wife is so full of 'what if' fears at this agePonyBoy
    • Well the old bugger pulled through the Op and is now awake. On dialysis as his kidneys took a hit...still touch and go but good signs.BusterBoy
