Is there some way we can make the comment beside the post easier to deal with when there are a lot of people commenting. I was just checking out the post by Busterboy on the blog thread and both fadein11 and Morning_star had a good little argument about the topic but had to do it in 150 characters.

When you don't have that much room the comments tend to degrade to "FUCK YOU" and "FUCK YOU TOO" which helps no one. (these guys did not deteriorate to this)

It seems that something like this needs to have it's own thread to really get ones point across without having to comment 5 or 6 times in a row. When the debate gets to this point I think we all like to see where it is going and maybe stick our opinion in.

Can you turn a popular post into a temporary thread once it gets to a certain number of comments and then delete it when no one has commented for like 24h? Most likely there is a better solution then that but I think there is a design dilemma that could be creatively overcome to allow for posts that are popular to have a better interface. Love the site and it's design, just an observation.
