Any one else in the same boat I am ... Not living in the country of your driving license/passport?
I've been going round in circles trying to get coinbase Identity validation to work - keep getting a failed message. then I finally read their support article which says they can't accept US passports as valid docs (weird)
So I use my US driving license even though I live in the UK, this one is pending but I expect it to fail as well because it goes on to say that
"If your ID document is issued by a country other than the country you are a resident of, it may not be possible to complete ID verification at this time. We're always working on improving our verification service and hope to support your specific situation as soon as possible."
So I might be screwed?
Anyone have any ideas?
In the time I've been faffing about with the the value of ripple has gone from 0.60 to $1.05 so annoying.
Also tried to set up a bitstamp account (you can buy ripple direct with $$$) and I get this:
STATUS: PENDING
DUE TO THE INCREASE IN USER REQUESTS YOUR VERIFICATION REQUEST MAY TAKE MORE THAN 24 HOURS TO RESOLVE. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING.
Thank you for submitting your request. Unfortunately, we are currently experiencing high volumes of verification requests, causing backlogs of up to 2 weeks before they are processed. We are working very hard to approve your request as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience."So annoying.
Thinking of giving Kraken a go but also think I'll see the same issues? Any other ideas?
- try other services, just dont end up signing up with one who will steal your moneyBennn
- just sign in with anything that looks like an id (foto) and has your name on it...the same name you'll need to register your cc or bank later?uan
- I mean, it's just a bot that looks into it.
and make sure you have a wallet you control where you can transfer your coins touan - More complicated than that. Coinbase won't work if your country of residence doesn't match the country for your ID docs.flashbender
- You couldn't just say you are a resident of the U.S.?yuekit
- Thought of that but my gut says that will make getting funds out nearly impossible as I do not have a US bank accountflashbender
- My dad is going through the same thing. Ripple will still be low enough for you to make massive profits by the time you get approved on bitstamp...brnmkg
- I feel like this is just the beginning. Just think if you bought Ethereum or Litecoin at $1.00. Disclaimer: This is just my opinion and not financial advice. :)brnmkg
- You can withdraw to a PayPal account if you have one (on Coinbase).yuekit
- Try a real bank :)monospaced
- Finally validated with my UK residency card, once that was done buying was super simple and straightforward. Now just waiting for the BTC transfer to binanceflashbender
- finally done. Bitcoins transferred to Binance, alt coins purchased. that was way harder than it should have beenflashbender
