  i just picked up some new parts for the ol'battle station. fantastic deals going on folks.

  - 8th Gen i5-8400 (6 cores for under 2bills)
  - MSI Z370-A PRO Mobo
  - TridentZ 16GB DDR4 @3000MHz
  - Corsair Hydro H75 Performance Liquid CPU Cooler
  - Samsung 960 EVO 250GB M2 SSD
  - Corsair Carbide 100R Case

  all under $730 and with free shipping. That processor just got released 6 days ago and it was under 200 bucks. it's based at
  2.80 GHz but you can OC to 4.00 GHz (only $187 on Amazon). just floored on the pricing.

  Ryzen was a consideration, especially after this write up (https://arstechnica.com/gadgets... But i guess my consideration for Intel is 'just because I've alway had Intel', so familiarity plus last time I had an AMD was back when Athlon was a thing.
