Had a job interview friday. Think it went well and they said they would call back at the start of the coming week. Thurday now and haven't heard a word, so I'm guessing they are signing contract with someone else and just won't contact until its a done deal.
They did seem very impressed by the html email job application mail I did, so guess thats a tip for others job hunting to stand out that way.
- Phone them up, goddamn.
You want the job? Chase it.
Don't be desperate about it, but just as equally, don't cower in the shadows.detritus - My partner does this all the time - frets about applications but never Just Phones The Cunts Up. Much better to know either way.detritus

- detritus - that was my thought too, but my other half actually adviced against that, as I would seem more desperate doing so.Nutter
- If they say 'start of the week' and you've not heard back by Wednesday, it's absolutely not desperate.detritus
- 'Desperate' is phoning up that afternoon or right on the day they've stated. 'Desperate' is a mile off showing you're keen, interested and professional too.detritus
- Personally it annoys me if we're hiring, haven't let anyone know yet, and someone rings up to chase. I think it's a little rude and pushy personallyset
- Same thing a long time ago when interviewing for housemates. We liked two but were deliberating. One rang up and text to see if we'd made our decision...set
- ... Which helped us make our decision. The other one.set
- Frankly, a phone call is never going to change their mind and make them choose you.set
- The only benefit to you I think is to find out sooner if they haven't chosen you...set
- Called them yesterday, the boss wasn't available so I left a message. Gota text today that they moved forward with other candidates. Not really surprised.Nutter
- You'd have totally gotten the job if you hadn't have calledset

- give them a week and 1/2 they might just have a slow hiring process depending on how large the company is.notype
- notype, normally I would wait, but when they specifically say "start of the week" then it just seems odd.
pockets, currently fixing a few outlook bugs.Nutter - any word?notype

- Phone them up, goddamn.
