Me. Right in my fucking balls and head.
For *massively* screwing up a render. Set the model up how I wanted it, did some quick region tests, no obvious problems. Sweet... Started it at around 5:30 when I left the office - it'll be done for when I come in today I thought. 15-16 hours will be plenty...
How so fucking wrong I was. Wrong like using a wrench as a dildo, wrong like house slippers. 16 hours later and it had done about 15%... FUCK! Civilisations have risen and fallen in less time than this fucker would take to complete. Of course I made juvenile, schoolboy, errors with the materials and render settings - neither of which I even bothered optimsing in my race to get thing finished. Not like I haven't done that before, but it never resulted in render times that would make Stephen Hawking pull a fucking endo.
So after lots of severe cunting about and tinkering, it's fixed and speeding along nicely. it has rendered in 90 minutes what it previously took about ten to do. Jesus fucking Christ.

- Tell me about it. As much as I love the nuts and bolts aspect of Vray, the version for C4D is so fucking ramshackle it makes me cry sometimes.face_melter
