Anyone who missed it and has the time, I'd recommend listening to the Sam Harris' interview with Scott Adams, as posted by Yuekit a few pages back.

I became quite fascinated by Adams before the election and as he's never slow to point out, he was one of the earliest and liveliest predictors of Trump's ultimate victory.
Some good insight into thought processes that may or may not be going on.
- i don't understand why people pay so much attention to him. he's like a political kardashian, a nobody.Greedo
- So? How then does one attain 'somebody' status? Who is able and allowed to comment on by your regard? Who actually knows anything?detritus
- Dilbert has a very blunt and removed angle on this and afaict his is the closest I've seen to truth beyond regurgitations of disaffected class' backlashdetritus

- I'll give it a listen but only because you recommended it. i won't like it and i'll do it with my arms crossed in a huff.Greedo
- Oh Christ, it's two hours long - you'll hate me! I just found it interesting *retracts recommendation*detritus

- I've listened to a bunch of SA's interviews and I give him that he predicted Trump's win (along with many others) but that interview really illustrates how heben_
- ...manipulates the message himself. Some would call Trump a liar, but he frames him as hyperbolic and not serious, but when one combines those two things andben_
- ...refuses to accept that they are lies when it's clear he'll never make good on his hyperbole, it just seems like he's being argumentative for the sake of it.ben_
- all I got out of it is he like that Trump is a master at convincing people of things. And turns a blind eye on Trumps flaws.inteliboy
