  Sonic Mania is a contemporary american development team designing an early 90's japanese platformer design. Another lovely retro tribute along the lines of Shovel Knight and Mega Man 9.

  Keep em coming. The longevity of the 2D platformer proves it's design was a success not only in the contemporary field but even later...

  As the industry progresses more and more into avatar rides I hope this style never goes away.
