Many of us suffer from low self esteem and after we contribute our content we tend to upvote the post. Granted, we might think the content is objectively worth it, and we could even be right, but our worst enemy is depending on peer acceptance and reassurance. This community is great, but we should be self reliant.

Sure, the upvotes are anonymous, but don't fool yourself that the other users can't tell. It's those sentiment nuances of press release flattery and FB copywriting that give away your weakness. People can see your puppy eyes and feel your emptiness between the lines.

Please consider that some posts stand stronger when they aren't cuddled by positive integers.

Like the great classics, a DGTOW should be self sufficient and true them self, so post what and when you want, thrive on the feedback from the hive mind and learn from the stats, but don't censor yourself for the prospect of online friends. Free yourself of the "what will they think of me" voice and just enjoy the beauty of online surfing and interacting.

On a side note, you might wonder why QBN has a mandatory up/down vote button for every post (with no API or blockchain set up for transparency), and how the score influences the post's visibility, and eventually your reputation. But once the MODS decided on giving the place a Lord of the Flies atmosphere the questioning becomes irrelevant and all that is left is living with this physics.
