i cant believe i read this whole damn thread.
if youre friend is into her a lot (even tho she may not be into him as much) he WILL get all mad and bent out of shape about it. ive found guys can be little bitches when it comes to the opposite sex. be prepared and willing to have a serious cat fight with your bro if you cross that line. really.
if hes not that good of a friend.. then taking your chances on the girl may be worth it then.
