Destiny 2 Beta (console versions) is out for those not clown enough to preorder.
Single player mission, a couple of PvP maps and a Strike, I think.
Made it through about 2/3 of the single-player mission before I had seen enough. It's fine, no, really, honestly - it's fine. It's fiiiiinne.
The usual histrionic Bungie bollocks that you really don't care about - the fat Martians from the last game decide to get a bit lairy and invade Erf and take the big white ball thing that Does Absolutely Fuck All™. So it is up to you to be that Destiny guy and shoot lots of identikit enemies repeatedly in the face with some guns that have names like 'Corpulent Bladder Eruption' and 'Glistening Gape Machine'. All the while The Bullshit Captain Guy™ from The Wire barks in your ear about saving Erf and Oblong-headed Guy™ from Firefly tries to be funny but hates the cornball as much as you do and always preferred Halo ODST anyway.
It's Halo, but with a new pair of tits.
