Just started learning guitar starting with practicing my scales. Fuck my fingers hurt. And pressing down on the strings hurts too. Do you get used to that?
I have a new found respect to those who can shred.
- wait till you build up calluses on your fingertips... then you won't feel a thing. You will have to go through blisters first though :( Hang in there!PonyBoy

and the hand wrist...relax that, don't play to tense...smooth.******** - thanks oey good advice im probably doing that wrongshellie
- blisters on my fingertips? fucking hell!shellie
- don't pick them / pop them either :/ Just let them come and turn callus... couple weeks and you'll be through itPonyBoy
- power through it, you absolutely get used to it -- no more blisters if you keep it upGnash
- You'll get used to it in no time. Here's a pro tip: Learn barre chords straight away. It will be a bitch, and take forever to get good at.section_014
- F learning a bunch of open chord based songs. Being able to barre, and move your other fingers is the #1 thing to master imo.section_014
