I had a surface, sent it back.

My Q was whether there is a functional version of indesign for ipad, or forthcoming, given the 'new' features ios11 has.

Reason I ask is that daily use of indesign is perhaps the final thing that I can only do on my mac. Everything else I can do, sometimes better, on tablet. Once indesign works well on tablet, I'll get rid of my mac.

I think in a couple of generations of ipad pro this is what will happen anyway, MPB + IpadP will merge.

    • that's weird why did you sent back the surface? I use it almost every day and never had an issue with indesign (or any adobe product)sted
    • I found windows to be a terrible thing. It ends up more £ than a like for like MBP plus you have to buy helvetica, mouse, keyboard etc.craigatkinson
    • Also, less easy to use Google software than on mac — with notifications and implementationcraigatkinson
    • However, I did and still do want something other than Apple and would be prepared to try again with a new windows. I found the pen excellent and thecraigatkinson
    • multifunction aspect great. Missing was the ability to back up to multiple drives as time machine can. Could only work to a single ext drivecraigatkinson
    • You should really give it more of a chance. Windows is solid, plenty of backup software out there.formed
    • I tried to use my ipad last night, gave up after 20 mins, just too archaic an OS, imho.formed
    • As to price, remember the Surface is a fully function PC, an ipad is not. It sounds like you want a toy to be a professional tool.formed
    • I was comparing price to MBP not ipad. 'backup software' should be built in. I'm not anti windows but I like macs because you need is there alreadycraigatkinson
