I'm surprised so few people seem to be looking at mid-southern Brooklyn, Bay Rigde, Midwood, Kensington, Sunset Park, Ditmas Park, much closer to the city then Jersey. I've seen plenty of 1-2bd in new buildings around $550-750k range. Good public transport with both express and local trains options.

- Unless you work on the lower parts of Manhattan, anything along the bottom 2/3rds of brooklyn would be a bit of a commute.pinkfloyd
