sr_rosa, this is ignorant and naive about the workings of the world and YOUR mind to say that one doesn't get affected by the words they use or don't. How about we think the other way around and say that there are some fundamentals that are super hard to challenge... You know the physics, the biology, the gravity. The reason why there is "he" and "she" is to help the talker/thinker to compartmentalize the world to progress our understanding of it. By diluting the meaning you are not fighting for progress but do the opposite: escape any responsibility for definitions and clarity.
- Also, from a practical sense. There are over 30 gender pronouns defined in NY law. 30! How is that even workable in daily life.Morning_star
