Fuck me...just watched some testimony from Michael Rogers, Director of the NSA and Daniel Coats, Director of National Intelligence...asked by a Senate Committee what they knew about any interference from Trump with respect to the Trump/Russia investigation. They both declined to answer, but when pressed, they both stated the "didn't feel it was appropriate to disclose that to a public hearing", to which it was then asked whether they had any legal basis to refuse to answer as the question didn't relate to 'how they felt'.
Both then stated they didn't believe they had any legal basis on which to refuse to answer the question...yet both still did.
So we now have intelligence officials that swore on oath to tell the truth, the WHOLE truth and NOTHING but the truth now refusing to answer basic questions from Congress even when they have no legal basis to not answer.
You would hope they could be charged with obstruction of justice but not sure Congress has the power to. Disgraceful.
- Sorry to stoke the conspiracy theory fire, but could they have declined due to suspects in the room?dorkKn1ght
- That's up to the Senate to decide...not them.BusterBoy
- Sorry to stoke the conspiracy theory fire, but could they be running this bullshit out there while the senate repeals the ACA?BonSeff
