The role of a director in interactive media is similar to that of stage in that the director has to cede control of the performance. In theatre it is ceding it to the actors and in interactive it is allowing the player to choose his path. In cinema the director has the most control if wanted because he/she picks the edits as well. This is all fascinating to analyze....
