"America is not sliding into fascism. That’s just hysteria by the liberals who can’t face up to the fact that they lost the election, so they either have to blame the Russians or giant historical forces. Basically, a right-wing president has been elected, and he’s created a brilliant machine that captures liberals and keeps them completely preoccupied. What he does is he wakes up in the morning, tweets something that he knows isn’t true, they get very upset and spend the whole day writing in big capital letters on social media, “This is outrageous. This is bad. This is fascism.”
Adam Curtis: Donald Trump is stepping for the first time into the real world
- a good readBluejam
- he lied to his entire voter base too so basically his pathological lying captures them as wellmoldero
- A brilliant article, with so many quotables, although I slightly wish I'd not seen Curtis' mug. I like how anonymous he was to me.detritus
- And he's bang on about Brexit.detritus
- The stuff he says about Brexit and Trump has been said ad infinitum since both events so hardly mindblowing. Love the fact he praises Sanders but doesn'tfadein11
- even mention the complete waste of space Jeremy Corbyn.fadein11
- Sure, in fact i believe i said as much just after Brexit. Truths don't change though, and I'm glad Curtis shares my view on things.detritus
- Yep I agree to a degree but it doesn't help the shitstorm we are now left with. Although a huge amount of Brexit voters did believe some v.silly lies told myfadein11
- by idiots and right-wing press. So a lot of them are a bit stupid imho.fadein11
- need coffee... half asleep so excuse the shit arse sentences :)fadein11
