My 15 year old daughter is currently taking DRAMA and MUSICAL THEATER in 10th grade.
She's been telling me how most of the kids in these classes say they have not yet figured out their sexual preference or even gender identity. She says the subject is constantly thrown around in conversation, to the point she feels a bit like an outsider for just liking boys. I think this is complete bullshit. I'm sorry but I am not just being "traditional" here what the fuck man, what's wrong with parents today?? Do you care that your child only has a constant diet of Hollywood, Social Media and Tumblr?

At what point does tolerance, bigotry and common sense meet?

    • I know exactly what you're talking about. School for the Arts here is the same. many kids seem to be figuring out what gender they are.Gnash
    • I have a 15 year old daughter too, everything is a drama... and these classes (Arts, Music, Theatre ) encourage difference...dmay
    • yeah its disturbing how the media drums it down kids throats. Corny as it sounds teach your kid to be true to herself, to think and question everything.mugwart
    • And at least there they fill comfortable to discuss that without someone calling them fags or gaysdmay
    • and not give a fuck what others think/care about.mugwart
    • (also common sense in 2017..... ;-))mugwart
    • :) i think you are over reacting. Aren't drama and theater usually where misfits gathers?pango
    • if she doesn't fit in with the misfit. i'd say she is safe.pango
