The right has spent so long being against Obama that they don't know what they stand for anymore on issues like health care. Is it complete free market (in which case no subsidy or mandate), or some kind of government support?

I read a Breitbart article yesterday that was basically criticizing the current GOP bill for cutting subsidies for the middle class, at the same time they rant against government health care. It's like they want all the benefits of socialized medicine with none of the cost.

It doesn't help that Trump ran on being a "nationalist." WTF does that mean when it comes to health care. Nationalism is an attitude, not a governing philosophy.

    • "Republicans are no longer about republican values, they're about fighting liberals." Very accurate quote I read.sofakingback
    • It's interesting how this was rolled out. Trump came out in support, but placed it squarely on Paul Ryans shoulders. Pressure is on Paul to deliver.IRNlun6
    • Ryan delivered a dud, it's even unpopular within his party. They'll need to rework it. The Dems will not accept anything. They'll halt it anyway they can.IRNlun6
    • The Reps need to deliver a plan that their party will accept, a plan that would look bad for the Dems to reject.IRNlun6
    • Trump showed his party he'd support even if it's initially shitty, and pressured to include other party members in the drafting this legislation.IRNlun6
    • Reps keeps pushing shitty bills will only reenforce the idea that they no longer stand for anything.IRNlun6
    • and there's no end to the shitty bills. They are just pushing whatever crap they can, as fast as they can...it's horrible stuffformed
    • Be real, Reps. bitched and bitched about ACA, but they have nothing better, they never did and won't. because its never been about health caresofakingback
    • its about not having DEMS do something good for this country and taking the credit for it. Im a strong believer in this mentality...sofakingback
    • You don't like something? Do better. don't ask for better. don't complain about better. don't hate people doing better than you can do. put up or shut up.sofakingback
    • REPS should have had their plan laid out as soon as ACA went out. why not? They've had all the time to do it. but no, it was just complaining. all bark no bitesofakingback
    • I think that a reality a lot of republicans are about to face, with their wallet and their healthcare. lesson learned.sofakingback
