yeah but with a logo, you don't pay $8000 for that little graphic, you pay 8k for someone/team to explore, test, refine present the best 'answer' / 'solution' to the set of requirements and problems that the desired logo should meet.
sure you could pay anyone with a computer $8 to use word to type out various fonts in 1hr and pick the best logo from that.
But what you're not seeing is the trying out of all other possible answers, and their rejection, accumulating in the conclusion that a logo that looks like it was typed in word and could cost $8 is the best solution.
Because.. well.. it get's everyone talking on twitter.
And if they wanted that to go international, they can pay me $800,000 and I'll type it out in comic sans.
That would get them international exposure and social media activity worth $m's!!!!!
