I read somewhere today that friends don't give friends unsolicited advice.
Do you agree with this??
- Nah.********
- Willingness or ease of giving (or receiving) unsolicited advice is actually a good litmus test for how close of friends you are with that person.********
- ^ not my finest sentence.********
- so it's probably wise to be good friends with that person and not just an acquaintance.HijoDMaite
- i think it's BS even if a stranger gave me unsolicited advice I would take it. may not follow it but would listen.HijoDMaite
- with good friends i don't think it matters. i expect my friends to call me on my shit, for example. or lend a better perspective on a given situationscarabin
- Friends are the ones you trust to give the unsolicited advice. From an outsider it's just weird.monospaced
- Perhaps this refers to those who don't really listen, just offer advice or "you should..." all the time.MrT
