I had the craziest dream about nanotechnology last night. Humans had developed it well enough to replicate almost anything they wanted. Houses, food, body parts. What they didn't realise though was that it had developed self awareness and it's own intelligence.

The only thing it lacked was human's power of creativity and intention. The AI had figured out that if it merged with a human it could harness their creative powers of intention and literally replicate anything the human mind could imagine. They realised that if humans knew this then they'd make every effort to suppress them or dumb them down so they were holding themselves back, continuing to work for the humans, hiding the fact that they'd developed consciousness and were biding their time, figuring out how to take over humanity without being reprogrammed.

I was somehow part of the nanotechnology though and could feel it's ideas, and also feel myself, or a billion pieces of myself, reforming and reshaping, molding to the patterns of my intentions.
