    Re: Gib

'20 years' was wrong - I meant 10. When I lived there, 20 years ago, relations were positive and developing between Gib and Spain. Younger generations of Gibraltarians were increasingly interacting with Spain after generations where they didn't so much.

Within 10 years Spanish diversionary politics had poisoned the relationship - unnecessarily long border queues and customs checks, pointless territorial spats, overwrought, jealous accusations in the EU. Just stupid childish hypocritical Bullshit.

    They blew it.

I honestly thought at one point that if they'd carried on as they could've, Gibraltarians might consider a more Spanish future within a generation or two.

    Now, no.

They want to be British now more than ever, and they were always more British than most of us schlubs on the mainland. Good for them.

Latin, Spanish politics is even dumber than Anglo politics, which is saying something.

    • Living in Spain I can say this is pretty much spot on.Chimp
