  FF15 defaults to active mode, but you can change it to wait mode. I actually usually have it on that most of the time. Not sure why it defaults to active. In wait mode it tells you the enemies weaknesses. In active mode, you need to unlock the skill for ignis to scan them, and he is absurdly slow at it so theres no good reason to use active mode. Another poor design decision.

  The characters are surprisingly good. They look dumb, but within 5 mins of starting the game you realize they are kinda normal dudes that like each other and have known each other for a long time, and the stand by me song starts playing, hard not to like them. The battle system though works, but its kinda trash.

  • After watching a few Twitch streams, I have to roll back my initial cynicism - it does look like great fun, especially the exploring which intrigues me the mostface_melter
