Thursday night is 1.50 taco night at this dive bar (dive bar as in the not hip dive bar type). Great fucking tacos. Mexicans side cash likely all tax free. Bar is full of what id imagine to be considered to be white trash hillbilly olds and younger drunk racists wearing camo. You hear how they talk and how offensive the language is or the way they speak to women and the women laugh. And you ask hugo for tacos in spanish and are completely un PC. But everyone is happy. The best thing about eating there tonight was i was the only dumb shit discussing politics with my g/f, about the vitriol and hate i saw today around news sites. And here these dumb fucking hillbillys by all looks were just talkin about normal shit. huntin, trucks, women, football, not one fuckin concern for politics. didnt hear a single thing. and if i was bettin i bet they voted too, but they knew exactly what to value, and that made me think fuck, these guys are so much better than me. I dont know if ignorance is bliss, or wether it right or wrong, or more than likely im thinkin to fuckin much, but I found myself both serenely content and happy watching it while somehow feeling something akin to jealousy. and how much if i could have any super power it would be to be a down syndrome kid whenever i wanted and just be all smiles
