Aside from dumb deplorables, I dont think too many people thought Trump would actually win. Aside from him being a total buffoon that no one ever took seriously, the electoral map is in favor of democrats due to having more states that are impossible for dems to lose that have a higher electoral prize.
The only way I see another republican getting elected anytime soon is if we have a democrat who is as big as a fuck up as Trump is, which would flip some blue states to red. A while back George Bush said he thought he might be the last republican president. This might be true until the dems severely screw up.
If Hillary does something in the white house that is like critically ad, well then we could see a repub win it in 2020. But even if she just coasts along, she would have a good chance at re-election. People werent all that high on Obama in 2012, and still took Romney down, who a lot of people thought would be a good president, including myself, and im a democrat.

- sSenat is still republican,
so basically they don't give a fuck.ApeRobot - Well trump's technically not a republican really, so if he wins bush is still right lol_niko
- technically he is a republican ... reallymonospaced
- Senat control the country, presidents are public figures. So it doesn't matter.ApeRobot
- "Corporations are people, my friend" - Mitt Romney, 2012.
just sayin'BuddhaHat - Democrats have a chance of winning the Senate, I'd say about 50/50 right nowyuekit
- trump's a one man show, he's a republican by convenience, he's more independent than anything, that's why the republitards hate him._niko
- I agree the map and the demographics favor the Dems, but all it would take is for the GOP to return to being a center-right party. Only that. Like they can goallthethings
- back now.allthethings
- Youre asking the GOP to consider doing something that is against their core values, just to save the party. I think that would put them in a serious bind. LolCygnusZero4
- And also would likely trigger a civil war amongst them.... which would be awesome btw lmaoCygnusZero4
- To me trump IS the center-right guy, and look what he did lol. He is no conservative. Before he ran, he was pro abortion, anti gun, soft on immigration....CygnusZero4
- and that's why he is, technically, a republican and always will be from now until the day he dies ... he can never live this downmonospaced
