I was looking forward to a new apple computer but after that last apple conference I am on the fence ...

Is anybody else looking at Surface Studio?

    • I think the Surface Studio looks appealing, but I'm not sure it's $4200 appealing for an iMac with a touch screen. :(monospaced
    • Surface Studio looks great, but it's niche for me. I do way more than draw — with those innards I'd have to buy the supposed updated one every 2-3 years. Ouch!evilpeacock
    • But I think for the intended audience it should be great. I'm mostly wondering how MS will profit a lot from that audience though. Apple never did.evilpeacock
    • Apple definitely profited.monospaced
    • During the "dark days" when they bled cash Apple's core market was mostly die-hard creatives, no mass market. They had higher prices then too.evilpeacock
    • @mono - lol as if a touchscreen - its a top line wacom and a computer and one of the best displays available for around 1k less... it's not pricey for what itfadein11
    • is and not aimed at the general coffee shop apple consumer surfer - its a specialist product. and if apple ever bother to cater for that market their price willfadein11
    • be more.fadein11
    • MS is building an ecosystem and a reputation. Designers are talking, they are "cool" and innovative and building quality.formed
    • This was brilliant marketing/pivoting by MS. Apple looks asleep and MS surprises. Now anything they come out with will get attention. That's the goal.formed
    • For example, people will now look at a Surface Phone that works with the Studio, etc.formed
    • Damnit! Stop treating like I'm arguing. I was just saying it's too expensive for me, not that it isn't worth the money.monospaced
    • And I doubt ms could revive their phone line from the dead for what. The third time?monospaced
