yeah Nintendo royally fucked up. The Wii remote still to this day feels amazing to use, just pointing through menus, playing wii sports... Shit is fun and intuitive. Actually feels like the next evolution of gaming.
There was a reason why Sony and MS went scrambling around to come up with their own versions of it.
By now Nintendo could have pushed through the "gimmick" off the wii, had a more refined console, a proper app store, and become head of the pack for VR and motion. Oh well.
