RE: Trump complaining about the NYC terror suspect receiving medical care, an attorney, etc. I wrote this elsewhere:
Audacity 101, wherein a human being running for the presidency, constantly pandering to those who take the bait and think the nation "isn't a country anymore," and who promises to uphold the Constitution that he has likely never read and certainly has little comprehension of even if he's read it 1,000 times, basically suggests that we take a gigantic crap on the Constitution, because screw what's in it, rules were't mean to be followed, and it's so much more fun to be a brash, illogical and ignorant fool than it is to abide by the very document that holds the country together.
There are people like this running countries elsewhere in the world. They're called dictators, they hang criminals in public squares, and torture dissidents and criminals, among other things we are fortunate to not endure in America. Funny enough, the United States has on numerous occasions sought to influence change in these countries through war or regime change to supposedly bring democracy to them, and improve their way of life especially with regard to human rights injustices, and cruel and unusual punishment delivered to citizens. While it's debatable whether we should be doing that anywhere or ever again, it's pretty clear we should do everything in our power to avoid bringing similar behavior into our own country. THAT will truly signal that we have no country, because we will have destroyed the very foundation of it.
