We're running on fossil fuel.
Fossil fuel is made in large parts of death dinausaurs, plants and animals.
Those plants and animals were killed in mass instinction cataclysm that eradicated large part of living being from surface of the Earth.
We're running on death, and we're killing ourselves from it.
